Hiking and camping in Madagascar: the expedition

This expedition is designed for hikers who want to see northern Madagascar far from the roads. It starts in Ambanja, among the cocoa plantations, and heads into the Tsaratanana massif: tropical forests, mountain trails, waterfalls and ancient volcanic formations.

The highlight is the ascent of Maromokotra, the island’s highest summit, with sweeping views at sunrise. Each evening, camp is set up at a site chosen by our guides: spacious tents, comfortable bedding and meals cooked on the spot.

The pace is demanding, with long walking days and steep climbs, but the programme adapts to the group’s level. We build it with you before departure.
